Philanthropy and generosity are inherent qualities that unite us, motivating us to join nonprofit organizations and make a difference. Fundraising plays a crucial role in transforming these values into impact by providing the necessary financial support. Strengthen your leadership skills by learning how effective fundraising channels generosity into philanthropic impact.
This is a 2-day course providing a comprehensive overview of fundraising principles. The course content covers the roles and responsibilities of fundraisers, with emphasis on responsibilities you are likely to encounter at the beginning of your career.

The course is taught in an active learning style and includes case studies and projects for groups and individuals, making the learning experience both substantive and enjoyable.
This course is eligible towards the completion of the Certificate in Fundraising Leadership
Learning objectives include:
- Discuss the essential components of an integrated development plan.
- Explain the elements of a marketing and communications plan that shares the organization’s message, informs constituents, and engages donors.
- Develop and sustain relationships with prospective donors, current donors, and volunteers.
- Plan individual and group solicitation strategies to secure annual and major gifts.
- Execute management policies and procedures to ensure fundraising activities are conducted with proper records management and stewardship.
- Demonstrate key ethics and accountability principles and practices in fundraising activities.
Schedule:
The course is offered in the following two formats:
(1) In-person
The in-person class is three days in length.
Day 1: 8:30 a.m.–5 p.m.
Day 2: 8:30 a.m.–5 p.m.
(2) Virtual (Live) Schedule
The live, virtual class is held over six sessions from 2pm to 5pm Eastern and hosted using the Zoom platform.
