Health
Our goal of ending extreme poverty can only be achieved by tackling poverty’s root causes—and top among them are poor public health and nutritional deficiencies. Since our inception, we have been working with NGOs leading the way with sector-defining programs that are improving people’s health for the better. Our consultancy has a proven track record of success in curtailing poverty through health programs.
We work with non-profits towards the survival and well-being of vulnerable communities while ensuring they obtain the knowledge and resources to keep themselves and their families healthy and nourished. In many of the communities our nonprofits operate in, the health systems are fragile, and communities are often unable to get the help they need to prevent suffering from undernutrition and preventable diseases. To help overcome this, we work with nonprofits, assisting them to design programs and initiatives that strengthen healthcare systems and improve access to good healthcare.
Our Areas of Expertise

Family Planning and Reproductive Health
Access to safe, voluntary family planning is a human right. CEND, together with nonprofits, works toward the goal of universal access to sexual and reproductive health and rights, including family planning. To CEND, family planning is central to gender equality and women’s empowerment, and it is a key factor in reducing poverty. CEND works with nonprofits to support family planning by ensuring a steady, reliable supply of quality contraceptives; strengthening national health systems; and advocating for policies.

Maternal, Newborn, and Child Health
Every child deserves to have a healthy start in life, and every mother should have access to quality healthcare during pregnancy and childbirth. The birth of a new child should be a time for celebration, and yet for many women around the world, it is a time of fear. According to the World Health Organization, more than 800 women die every day from complications in pregnancy and childbirth. With our expertise in health program design, we support NGOs so that they can support those from the most vulnerable communities with better access to MNCH services.

Malaria
Malaria is an infectious disease that, despite being preventable and treatable, threatens the lives of 3.2 billion people around the world. Since its inception, CEND has been working with non-government organizations towards eliminating malaria, providing technical and operational support to prevent, control, and treat malaria. The service involves the design and implementation of communication and public awareness programs for nonprofits for the prevention and management of malaria.

Nutrition
Good nutrition is the bedrock of child survival and development. But today, many children are not getting the nutrients they need to survive and thrive. We have extensive experience in designing nutrition programs for nonprofits. The design process ensures people have access to adequate nutrient-rich food and basic services, which are essential for protecting their survival, safety, health, and well-being.

Strengthening Health Systems
A strong, resilient health system is the key to achieving sustainable improvements in health care. A health system is made up of many layers of institutions and individuals that, together, contribute to the availability, quality, and affordability of preventative, curative, and palliative health services. Through our consultancy services, we work with a diverse range of nonprofit organizations to design, implement, and evaluate programs and projects that strengthen health systems.
