About John

John K. Incoom has over 10 years of experience in fundraising. He has served as the fundraiser with Humanitarian Development and Relief Services, Ghana, since 2017, in his own consulting practice. He has managed many types of fundraising programs and activities, including feasibility studies and capital campaigns, as well as major gift, planned giving, annual giving, direct mail, and telemarketing programs. His particular emphasis has been on working with mid-sized and smaller nonprofit organizations.

He has helped many nonprofits with their first capital campaigns—and many others with their first non-special-event-oriented fundraising efforts. John is a founding member of the Fundraising Consultants Network—an organization dedicated to helping small nonprofits. He has also served as a trustee and officer of Africa Source Charities, Inc., a non-profit organization based in Johannesburg created to help charities accept gifts of real estate and other tangible assets.

John holds a Master’s Degree in Business and Administration, an MBA from the University of Dallas and University of Ghana, respectively, and a second Master’s Degree in International Development from the University of Amsterdam. Parallel to that, he has taken several courses and training in fundraising from the Chartered Institute of Fundraising in the UK.
