Since its inception, the Center for Nonprofit Development (CEND) has worked with individuals, families, nonprofits, foundations, and corporations to increase the quality and availability of learning opportunities for students of all ages. We offer time-based consulting services in program design for NGOs spanning the educational spectrum, from early childhood programs to primary and secondary schools and from vocational training to university degrees and continuing professional development.m

Our Areas of Expertise
Early Childhood Education
CEND works with nonprofits to design, implement, monitor, and evaluate Early Childhood Development (ECD) programs that give children the right start in life. These services go beyond education to address the five elements of ‘nurturing care’ for children, which include health, nutrition, early stimulation, learning opportunities, and protection.
Primary Education
Primary education forms the bedrock of development. It is in primary school that children learn foundational skills that prepare them for life, work, and active citizenship. CEND works with charitable organizations to provide them projects and programs that reduce access gaps, enrich learning experiences, and improve learning outcomes for primary school children.
Secondary Education
We help non-profits design high-quality, relevant secondary education programs that are accessible to all. To improve students’ academic and non-academic learning outcomes, our work addresses issues of access (particularly for girls); government capacity development; school leadership; teacher transformation; child-centered learning; and community engagement.
Vocational Education
At CEND, we offer a wide range of consulting services in TVET programs design. Our services are tailored to advance youth employment, provide access to decent work, entrepreneurship, and lifelong learning. We offer services for both new and existing nonprofits to help them navigate TVET programs and achieve their goals more effectively.
Tertiary Education
Tertiary education is instrumental in fostering growth, reducing poverty, and boosting shared prosperity. We help non-profit organizations execute their tertiary education missions through advisory and program design to produce well-educated people with adequate and relevant job skills.
